Classroom Management

SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEENS:

http://www.seancovey.com/teens.html
I am so excited that our campus has adopted the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey as our character curriculum for this year. We are using the "Habits" to empower students to take responsibility for their own learning, foster student leadership, build a common language between students, parents and staff, inspire academic awesomeness and promote collaboration and teamwork. Putting the "Habits" in the forefront is key to a success. By putting slogans and banners in the halls, classrooms and common areas, the students and staff are always reminded that character matters. Here are some posters that I created for our classrooms. If you like them, you can find them in my TpT Store by clicking the link below the posters below.

CHAMPS:

My campus uses the CHAMPS model for classroom management.  If you are like me, you are always looking for a way to improve time on task, engage all students and improve the culture and learning environment in your classroom. Using CHAMPS will provide you with some great tools for classroom management.  Even if your campus is not a CHAMPS campus, you can certainly benefit from these great ideas. It's no secret, a happy classroom is a productive classroom!

Here is a link where you can learn more about the CHAMPS system!  Check it out!

  1. I have a couple of questions. First, I saw somewhere on your blog that this CHAMPS poster was a free download but when I clicked on the link, it was not so. Second, I was wondering if you have an editable version available. I am teaching four different subjects this year and have different activities for each subject and I would like to be able to edit according to the particular subject.

  2. Sorry, the freebie was from last August and is no longer available. I do not currently have an editable file, but I am working on one and hope to have it sometime soon. Since school starts for me tomorrow, I am going to have to limit special orders for a while. Thanks for your interest in the Champs.

  3. I think one of the great things about teaching is that there are as many different approaches to content as there are teachers! I really try to focus on independence, choice, and time management so my students get their work for the week,The likert scale spss also gives information!
